WELCOME

TO THE MULGRAVE & DERRY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Mulgrave & Derry Historical Society (MDHS) was founded in the year 2000 after the municipality held a Millennium Celebration to commemorate the histories of the families in the area.  Families made posters showing old photos and telling the stories of the first settlers. The Historical Society is interested in preserving these memories for future generations.

The purpose of the Society is to promote the preservation and protection of Mulgrave-et-Derry’s heritage, including its buildings, landmarks, natural environment, history and culture.

The MDHS has an agreement with St. Matthew Lutheran Church to use their parsonage to display the collection of photos and hold events.

The Society’s updated, user-friendly and sustainable Website was made possible thanks to QAHN’s Belonging and Identity Grantfunded by the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise.

We are confident that your visit will bring you great satisfaction as you discover and/or reconnect with the history and culture of Mulgrave-et-Derry. The projects and information aim at promoting our Society’s role and values, thus ensuring our perennity.
